Older Toddlers
Older toddlers are full of energy! At this stage, most are walking, talking, climbing, and running, keeping us on our toes as they explore their growing independence. They begin to imitate adults, express a wide range of emotions, and show interest in potty training. In the classroom, we celebrate their desire for independence and support it through free play, which helps develop both their fine and gross motor skills.
Ages 2 - 3 years old
In the older toddler classroom, we will start each day with circle time, where children will explore concepts like the days of the week, the weather, and shapes/colors. We will read stories together, sing songs, and engage in activities that help develop fine motor skills, such as working with manipulatives, solving puzzles, and participating in arts and crafts projects aligned with our curriculum. Additionally, children will have the opportunity to use their imagination in the dramatic play center and practice gross motor skills both indoors and outdoors.
